Role: Children’s Independent Domestic Violence Advocate
Based Rugby

Duration: Temporary
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am – 5pm Monday – Friday)
Our client, a leading domestic abuse charity, are looking for a CHISVA to join their team.
The role involved providing support to children and young people ages 4 - 17, living in Warwickshire, who have witnessed/experienced domestic abuse.
Synopsis of duties:
- To provide emotional and practical support to child survivors of domestic abuse, conducting support sessions and keeping accurate casework records up to date.
- Conduct risk assessments of the child survivors and devising individual support and risk management plans.
- Assist the children and young people in accessing relevant educational and community services, including schools, counselling, health, legal, education, volunteering and employment services.
- To promote healthy relationships, online safety, etc.
- Working in partnership with partner agencies to advocate for the child and young person.
- Deliver presentations and informal training to external agencies to help improve responses to gender-based violence.
- To ensure that children and young people are aware of their rights to legal protection
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of working with children/young people who have been affected by domestic abuse.
- Experience of advocating to statutory agencies in multi-agency meetings on behalf of victims.
- Experience delivering training around DA to professionals would be advantageous
- Must have an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months or on the update
