Family Help Practitioner
Role: Family Help Practitioner
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Contract: Temporary (2–3 months) – Interim cover
Hours: Minimum 3 days per week (up to 5 days)
Pay Rate: £12.50 - £16.50 (depending on pay status)
Requirements for the role:
We are recruiting for a temporary Family Help Practitioner on behalf of a well-respected charity. This is a hands-on, relationship-based role supporting children, young people, and families through an integrated early help framework.
You will work directly with families in their homes and community settings, helping to ensure children and young people remain safe, supported, and able to thrive within their family networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide practical, emotional, and strengths-based support to families
Deliver direct, relationship-based interventions with children, young people, and families aged 0–19
Work within an integrated Early Help / Family Help framework
Manage a caseload and maintain accurate, timely electronic case records
Act as Lead Professional where required, coordinating multi-agency support
Contribute to joint assessments and family plans
Build effective partnerships with health, education, social care, and voluntary sector services
Work in line with safeguarding legislation, local procedures, and organisational policies
Attend team meetings, supervision, and training, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development
Essential Requirements
Level 3 qualification or above (relevant to children, young people, or family support)
Experience working with children, young people, and families within Early Help or Family Support services
Strong understanding of safeguarding and early intervention approaches
Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
