Refuge Practitioner (Weekend & Part-Time Roles)

Location: Leicestershire (across multiple sites)

We are seeking committed and reliable Refuge Practitioners to support the delivery and day-to-day running of refuge accommodation services. These roles focus on ensuring a safe, well-managed, and supportive environment.

 Available Positions

Weekend Refuge Practitioner 

  • Hours: 13 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Location: Leicester City (across two sites)
  • Salary: £14-18 Dependent on Pay Status 

 Refuge Practitioner 

  • Hours: 27.5 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Location: Leicestershire
  • Salary:  £14-18 Dependent on Pay Status 

Refuge Practitioner 

  • Hours: 30.5 hours per week
  • Working Pattern:
    • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
    • Monday - Wednesday: shifts between 8:30am - 6:30pm
  • Location: Leicester City 
  • Salary:  £14-18 Dependent on Pay Status 

 Temporary to Permanent (Temp to Perm) - with the intention to become permanent subject to performance and funding.

 You will contribute to the effective operation of refuge accommodation services by providing practical and organisational support, ensuring a safe and structured environment.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day delivery and smooth running of refuge accommodation services
  • Manage referrals, admissions, and maintain accurate, confidential records
  • Provide structured support and facilitate group sessions/meetings
  • Work across multiple sites and liaise with external agencies as required
  • Contribute to service coordination, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Support volunteers and work collaboratively within the wider team
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and follow all policies and procedures
  • Work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays where required

 Essential Requirements

  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months

  • Flexibility to meet service needs
  • Experience working in a support, housing, or similar setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage workload effectively
