Head of Service
Role: Head of Service - Domestic Abuse Services
Location: East Midlands
Hours: 37 hours per week
Hourly Rate: £20.50 - £26.50 depending on pay status
Contract: Temp to Perm
Supporting Futures are recruiting on behalf of a specialist domestic abuse charity for an experienced Head of Service to provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of specialist frontline services supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will have responsibility for four Team Managers and provide leadership across service delivery, quality, performance, people management and partnership working.
This is an opportunity for an experienced domestic abuse leader to influence the development and delivery of services while ensuring the voice and lived experience of survivors remains central to service provision.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and management across a portfolio of specialist domestic abuse services
- Directly managing and developing Team Managers
- Contributing to organisational strategy as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Ensuring services achieve contractual requirements, outcomes and quality standards
- Overseeing safeguarding, risk management and complex casework
- Developing and implementing service delivery plans
- Leading service improvement and organisational change
- Monitoring performance, budgets and contract compliance
- Building effective relationships with commissioners, statutory agencies and voluntary sector partners
- Supporting the development of staff and creating a positive, accountable and supportive culture
- Contributing to tenders, funding opportunities and service development
- Ensuring survivor voice and co-production inform service development
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant management and leadership experience within domestic abuse services
- Experience managing and developing services supporting women and children
- Strong staff leadership and development experience
- Experience managing complex services, projects and contracts
- Knowledge of domestic abuse, trauma-informed practice and current developments within the sector
- Experience working with commissioners and multi-agency partners
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, quality assurance and contract compliance
- Experience managing budgets and monitoring service performance
- The ability to lead effectively through change and within complex environments
- Strong strategic planning, communication and relationship-building skills
Degree-level education or equivalent experience is required, alongside evidence of ongoing professional development.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are required, alongside an Enhanced DBS.
Some evening/weekend work may be required and the post participates in an on-call rota.
